“Ordinary Membership” is open to men and women who served in the theatre with Her Majesty’s Forces, Commonwealth and Allied Forces, Federation of Malaya Police (now Royal Malaysian Police), the Civil Service, St John’s Ambulance Brigade, Salvation Army and Auxiliary Forces, and other forces deemed applicable, who served from the time of the Second World War, the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960), FARELF etc., and during the Indonesian Confrontation. Also Civilians who were directly involved in military style operations, or who were interned during the Japanese occupation of the area.  Service members and other eligible persons who have served in peace keeping activities in our general area from the 1970’s onwards are also entitled to apply for membership.

 

“Associate Membership” - is open to spouses/partners of members, and widows/widowers of any person who would have qualified. Membership may also be granted to brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of Ordinary members, and to such relatives who could be eligible for Ordinary membership.

 

The membership fee for an Ordinary member is $15-00, this fee includes the State newsletter “Berita Queensland”.

Where an Assoc. Member is a Spouse/Partner, the fee is -  $5-00 ( but does not receive a separate newsletter).

Other Associate Members $15.00 and would receive the berita newsletter.

 

 

 

 

The Queensland newsletter “Berita Queensland” is issued 4 times per year and provides a personal point of contact between members, with contributions and articles by members relating to their experiences etc. Such articles are ALWAYS welcome. The final selection of articles/stories/reports that are to be included in “Berita” are at the absolute discretion of the EDITOR.

 

State meetings are held every 3 months, whilst Sub-branches meet as often as desired, but preferably at least 3 monthly, State reunions, if possible, once per annum.

 

Overseas reunions occur in Malaysia once per year in June at a ceremony held at Batu Gajah, near Ipoh, Perak State, to remember those who fell during the WW11, Emergency, Indonesian Confrontation etc.
